Farm experiences

Throughout the year, we invite you to exciting farm tours and barn visits, where you can experience life on the farm up close. In the summer, our guests can even roll up their sleeves and help with the haymaking. A special highlight is our guided hike to our private alpine hut on the Seiser Alm, where you can enjoy a barbecue to your heart’s content.

Every Wednesday in summer, we host cozy barbecue evenings, where we gather around the table and unwind together. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we are happy to reschedule the evening to another day, upon request.

Our Highland cattle

We have been breeding Scottish Highland cattle on our farm since 2020. This breed is one of the oldest cattle breeds in the world. Originally they come from Scotland. The Highland cattle are kept outdoors all year round and due to their thick, long and shaggy coat, the desired outside temperature is between -15 and +15 degrees. They can also withstand temperatures of up to -40 degrees. The animals are fed hay and straw all year round, and in summer they naturally graze on the meadow and eat fresh grass.

One characteristic of cattle is their magnificent and long horns, which are shaped differently depending on their sex. In bulls, they typically have a strong, horizontally curved shape. In cows, the horns are usually much longer and curved upwards. They are used by highland cattle for foraging. In winter, they use them to dig for grass in the snow. There is a strict hierarchy in the herds, which the highland cattle observe among themselves.
